Baseball dominates in opener

Tech’s baseball team got the season off to an impressive start over the weekend, sweeping the Youngstown State Penguins in their three-game series. With the win in the season opener, Tech’s season opener all-time record moved to 59-47-3 and 11-4 under Head Coach Danny Hall, who begins his No. 15 season at helm.

Baseball sweeps Georgia Southern

Freshman Jeff Rowland’s first career home run capped off a seven-run third inning for the Jackets and freshman starter Deck McGuire. Tech chased off Georgia Southern starter Burt Barto after just 2 2/3 innings. Barto gave up eight earned runs including a home run to freshman Thomas Nichols in the second inning. Kyle Blackburn homered for Southern in the fourth to put the Eagles on the board.

Women's tennis falls to UGA

The women’s team came out strong this Saturday against the Bulldogs, taking a 3-0 lead, but then fell as Georgia was able to rally back with a 4-3 victory.
