Baseball beats UGA in front of record crowd

The Jackets squared off against in-state rival No. 11 UGA in the mid-week game. For Tech, mid-week pitcher Deck McGuire (4-0, 3.00 ERA) squared off against the Bulldogs’ starter Alex McRee (5-1, 3.42 ERA). Like most Tech-UGA games, this one had a full storyline from the start.

Track and field races at Auburn

The men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at Auburn University over the weekend. For the women, senior Jenny Sims won the women’s 1500-run with a time of 4 minutes and 32.07 seconds. The team finished well on the whole in the women’s 800m. Freshman Amanda Montgomery placed No. 2 in the event clocking in at 2:25.51. Sims finished just behind her in third with a time of 2:16.66, and freshman Cory Aitken crossed the line No. 8 with a time of 2:23.29.
