Baseball beats UGA in front of record crowd

The Jackets squared off against in-state rival No. 11 UGA in the mid-week game. For Tech, mid-week pitcher Deck McGuire (4-0, 3.00 ERA) squared off against the Bulldogs’ starter Alex McRee (5-1, 3.42 ERA). Like most Tech-UGA games, this one had a full storyline from the start.

Women's tennis beats three conference foes

The women’s team jumped to 8-1 in the ACC and No. 2 in the national rankings this past week with wins over Florida State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Softball sweeps UGA for second year in a row

The softball team beat state rival UGA in both games of their doubleheader on Wednesday in front of a packed crowd at Glenn Field, winning 6-4 and 4-3.

Men's tennis tops ACC foes BC, UMD

The men’s tennis team won their last two home matches of the season with wins over Boston College and University of Maryland. The Jackets won both matches 6-1.

Softball swept by N.C. State

The softball team struggled this past weekend as they were swept by NC State in a three-game series.

Track and field races at Auburn

The men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at Auburn University over the weekend. For the women, senior Jenny Sims won the women’s 1500-run with a time of 4 minutes and 32.07 seconds. The team finished well on the whole in the women’s 800m. Freshman Amanda Montgomery placed No. 2 in the event clocking in at 2:25.51. Sims finished just behind her in third with a time of 2:16.66, and freshman Cory Aitken crossed the line No. 8 with a time of 2:23.29.

Baseball loses UNC series

The Jackets were able to take the final game of the series against No. 3 North Carolina in Cary last weekend, but had very lackluster showings in the other two games.
