Local boutiques offer fusion of fashion, fun

Just off campus on Marietta St. sit two unassuming boutiques that sell high fashion merchandise at discounted prices. Luxe Atlanta and 1*FIVE*0 Boutique are owned and operated by Lanny West and his wife Leslie Fram, Jenn Ripley and Carole Davenport. There is definitely more than meets the eye at these two year-old stores.

MovieFest finale hits off with impressive screening

Campus MovieFest is always a refreshing event. Its nice to see Tech kids breaking the inaccurate we-only-like-math-and-science stereotype and doing something creative. When we Techies arent crunching numbers, splitting atoms, building machines or adjusting the glasses on our faces, we apparently arent too shabby at filming stuff. Are all of these movies perfect? No, but most are pleasantly surprising.

Cypress serves up enjoyment

It was a cloudy Wednesday afternoon. A chilling wind cut through my jacket as I crossed West Peachtree along Sixth Street. After a few moments I rounded the next corner and made my way inside. Instantly I was warmed by both the heat and the soft wood of the bar, the brick walls, and the low, soft glow of the candles spread throughout. Rambo returns to dish out plotless gore

While its not thoroughly engrossing or particularly original, Rambo, Sylvester Stallones throwback to eighties action movies, certainly succeeds as a purely adrenaline filled macho-man film about destruction and violence. Returning once again to the material that made him famous (last year he resurrected Rocky to surprisingly good reviews), Stallone brings back his one-man army, John Rambo, a man who only knows how to kill.

High attracts college crowd

On the night of Saturday, Feb. 9, from 7 p.m. to midnight, the High Museum of Art will proudly host their tenth annual College Night at the High event. Titled College Night Art Break 2008: A World of Art, the event accordingly flourishes an international theme.
