SGA election process begins; applications available
Students who wish to run for a position in the upcoming Student Government Association (SGA) elections may now pick up applications in the SGA office located in the Student Center commons.

Tech Rec is planning to request $225,000 from the Student Government Association(SGA) to pay for new pinsetters and new equipment to replace the current system running its bowling lanes. The eight current pinsetters were manufactured in the 1950s and 1960s and were previously used before being installed in the 1970s.

This spring Tech launched the Robert Noyce Scholarship Program in conjunction with Kennesaw State University with funds provided by the National Science Foundation. The scholarship is awarded to students majoring in a science-related field who intend to teach high school chemistry or physics, including students earning degrees in Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Atmospheric Science and many of the engineering fields. The Robert Noyce Scholars Program will provide $10,000 per year scholarships to KSU and Tech undergraduates during their last year of undergraduate education and during their enrollment in KSU’s 15-month Master of Arts in Teaching program.

Read More...Clough Steps Down from President
In a campus-wide e-mail sent to students on Saturday, March 16, the first day of Spring Break, Institute President Wayne Clough announced that he will be stepping down from his post, effective July 1, in order to become the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, the museum's top position. Clough has been Tech's president since September of 1994 and is the first Tech alumnus to hold the position.
