HOT: Voters amend

The three referendums voted on during last week’s elections of the Student Government Association all passed. The creation of the Joint Judiciary Cabinet and the updates of the amendment policies of the legislative governing bodies were much needed updates to the SGA system. It shows foresight on the part of the voting student body to take the time to read and approve these motions.

NOT: Voters abstain

A meager 2,597 students voted in last week’s round of Student Government Association Undergraduate Presidential elections. Oddly, even less, just 2,501 voted in the Executive Vice Presidential race. Who votes for the President, and doesn’t fill out the next half of the ballot? The low voter turn-out to decide who leads the student body shows a level of disinterest not often exhibited by Tech students.

HOT: Grand slam

The Jackets had a resounding series of wins over UGA this week, with the softball team winning two games in a row on Wednesday, followed by a 9-4 victory by the baseball team that night. These wins gave the baseball team an overall record of 26-7, and the softball team a record of 19-26.

NOT: Yellow Snow

In true spring fever, the city of Atlanta has initiated a re-decorating project, painting the entire city a glaring shade of yellow. Not deep enough to match Tech gold, the pollen coating the city has become a literal eyesore, covering cars, roads, and people who stand still for too long, and forcing a mass run on Benadryl.
